Registration and Fundraising
There are only 100 entries available for the 52.4 event.
All 52.4 participants are required to fundraise a minimum of $1000 for the charity of their choice using the Crowdrise.com platform. Once a participant registers for the 52.4 race, a member of The San Francisco Marathon staff will follow-up on your Crowdrise page and fundraising progress. There will be no refunds or reimbursements of the 52.4 race entry fee. If a 52.4 participant fails to meet the $1000 fundraising minimum, the participant will not be allowed to run the 52.4 race. Fundraising minimums must be met by July 25, 2014.
All participants receive a unique 52.4 technical fabric long-sleeved shirt and The San Francisco Full Marathon technical fabric long-sleeved shirt.
Finishers receive both a 52.4 finisher’s medal and a San Francisco Full Marathon finisher’s medal, electronic finisher’s certificate, and individual care, both on and off the course and following – including food, beverage, heat sheet and availability of medical care, and post race massages.
52.4 hospitality tent with food and drink and private bathrooms.
52.4 participants must run the first loop at a pace of 12:00min/mile (5 hour course limit). In order to qualify as an Official 52.4 Ultra Marathon Finisher and San Francisco Marathon Official Finisher, you must finish the second loop within 6 hours. After the final wave start, 52.4 participants must maintain a 13:45 minute per mile pace as The Official San Francisco Marathon course will be closed on a mile-by-mile rolling basis.
If you are unable to run within the allotted time for the first loop, you may not be able to start the second loop (The Official San Francisco FULL Marathon). If you don’t run the allotted time for the second loop, you will be asked to move onto the sidewalk. Once you are on the sidewalk, you must follow all traffic laws deemed by the City and County of San Francisco. The course will be re-opened to traffic and aid stations may be closed.
First Loop: 12:00 a.m. SHARP
Second Loop: 5:40 a.m. – 6:32 a.m.
We adhere to the standard road racing industry policy. All entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. This is noted on our registration application, and when you register for any of our events you must agree to this policy. You may not give or sell your number to another individual – if you do this could result in your disqualification as well as the runner who uses your race number.
The entry fee for this year’s event will not transfer to next year’s event, no exceptions. This policy stays in effect whether you are injured, have an unexpected business or family emergency, pregnancy, etc. There are no exceptions. Any inquiry regarding this policy will be directed back to this page.
In the event you cannot run the 2014 race at all, please enclose a written request with your cancellation and include your name, gender, address, and phone number. By canceling your registration you won’t receive a refund, but we will send you the race shirt after the race. Medals are not sent to those who do not actually complete the course. We do not accept emailed cancellations. We must receive your written cancellation by July 1st. If your written cancellation is received after that date, we will not be able to process it.
