I started running because I wanted to challenge myself. I had never ran long distance before(further than 6 miles. So when I finished with Graduate school in 2002, my friend and I decided we were going to train for and run a half marathon. So we started in the first week of June and registered for the SF Marathon. It gave us almost 8 weeks to train. We did not know much about putting together a training program. Our goal was to finish and complete the race. We did not have a timed goal. We ended up finishing and had a great time and I have been running ever since. The SF Marathon will be my 10 year running anniversary!
