The San Francisco Marathon 5K & Progressive Marathon Information
The Course
The 5K/Progressive Marathon starts on the Embarcadero (near the Ferry Building), loops around by AT&T Park and finishes on the Embarcadero (near Cupid’s Span). The course is flat and fast and is USATF certified. The course limit for the 5K is 1 hour (based on a 20:00 minute mile).
What is the Progressive Marathon?
The Progressive Marathon is an accumulation of 23.1 miles prior to Race Day. You run or walk 23.1 miles leading up to Race Day. Keeping track of your mileage on the Progressive Marathon Tracking Sheet, you must hand in this form when you pick up your bib number and t-shirt and complete the 5K race in order to be eligible for a Progressive Marathon medal.
What do you receive?
- Your registration includes an entry into the 5K race
- Official Race T-shirt (cotton 5K shirt)
- Progressive Marathon medal (if you have signed up for the Progressive Marathon and when you turn in your Tracking Sheet and finish the 5K race)
- Finish Line Food
- Electronic Finishers' Certificate
- NOTE: If you are not an Official Finisher, you will not be guaranteed a medal or an official result
