UPS Baggage Check
Make sure your bib number is clearly labeled on your bag (provided at the Expo). The San Francisco Marathon is not liable for any lost, damaged or stolen items. We STRONGLY recommend that you do not place any valuable items (ie: phones, cameras, car keys, drivers licence) in your bag. We also recommend that you do not overstuff your bag, place heavy items in the bags or store any breakables in the bag that they may be moved or dropped.
Full Marathon
UPS trucks will be parked along the Embarcadero between Mission and Harrison Streets to accept your bags. Look for the truck that has your event and bib number on the sign in front of the truck. Your assigned truck will be parked near the entrance to your wave area. At the end of the race, the trucks will be parked along the Embarcadero between Mission and Howard Streets for you to pick up your bags. Baggage claim is open until 1PM.
First Half Marathon
UPS trucks will be parked along the Embarcadero between Mission and Harrison Streets to accept your bags. Look for the truck that has your event and bib number on the sign in front of the truck. Your assigned truck will be parked near the entrance to your wave area. The trucks will transport your bags and be parked at the First Half Finish at the end of the race for pick up. Baggage claim is open until 10 AM.
2nd Half Marathon
UPS trucks will be parked next to Spreckels Lake in Golden Gate Park near the start line of the 2nd Half Marathon. Look for the truck that has your bib number on the sign in front of the truck. The trucks will transport your bags and be parked at the Main Finish area on Howard St. at the Embarcadero at the end of the race for pick up. Baggage claim is open until 1PM.
5K and Progressive Marathon
A UPS truck will be parked on the Embarcadero just south of Mission St. Look for the truck that has the 5K and Progressive Marathon sign in front of the truck. You will pick up your bags at the same location. Baggage claim is open until 1PM.
Lost Baggage
Any bags leftover from the race will be returned to The San Francisco Marathon. You will have five days to claim your bag or contact us about shipping your bag. There is a $15 shipping charge for returning leftover baggage. All unclaimed bags will be given to charity.
Shuttle Bus Details (Half Marathon ONLY)
Free busing is available for all half marathoners. You must show your bib number in order to ride the bus.
First Half Marathon
The buses will take First Half Marathoners from the finish in Golden Gate Park (at 14th Ave. and Fulton St.) back to the Main Start Area on Spear St. at Howard St. 6:30AM – 9:45AM
Second Half Marathon
The buses will take Second Half Marathoners from the Main Start Area on Spear st. at Howard St. to the Second Half Start Area on Fulton St. at 36th Ave. 6:30AM – 7:40AM
