Elite Runners

The 2012 San Francisco Marathon® (and Second Half Marathon) invite athletes to inquire about participation in the event.  The SF Marathon is not offering a purse for this year’s event.

The race will distribute complimentary entries based on demonstrated past performance. In addition, limited hotel accommodations are offered. Invited athletes receive a seeded starting line position.

Elite bib placement is limited and these participants will receive placement in the front of the pack at the beginning of the race. In some cases, elite athletes are offered a complimentary registration. The application process for these registrations is explained below and involves a thorough check of past performances.

IMPORTANT NOTE: We do not consider inviting non-U.S. athletes who are required to have a U.S. visa, but do not currently have a U.S. Visa and are not currently residing in, or visiting, the U.S.
