The most unique neighborhood in the city of San Francisco, runners start Mile 15 in the military home base residential area inside of Golden Gate Park called The Presidio. It is a national historic landmark and federally owned land reserve, maintained and operated by the National Parks Service via The Presidio Trust. The area features spread out homes and a nature lover’s paradise.

From the peak of the course in the Presidio, runners will begin a long slow descent down Lincoln Blvd. toward bordering Baker Beach. Baker Beach’s offers spectacular outside-the-Gate views of the Bridge and the Marin Headlands. Just past the Baker Beach sign Lincoln Blvd. turns into El Camino Del Mar.

At El Camino, runners will see a little valley to their right. In this valley is Lobos Creek, one of the two remaining above ground streams in San Francisco. This is also the lowest section of mile 15. As runners exit the Presidio and enter the Sea Cliff neighborhood and mile 16 begins…
