Spectator Information

You don’t have to run to be a part of the The San Francisco Marathon experience. We encourage friends and family of runners and the San Francisco community to participate on Race Day (July 23rd, 2017). Your presence and encouragement makes a huge and meaningful impact on our runners on Race Day. From cheer locations to how to cheer on your runner all along the course, we hope the following information helps you prepare for race day. Please check back closer to Race Day for even more information on our 2017 events and spectator information.

Course Entertainment and Cheer Stations

The San Francisco Marathon showcases over a dozen different entertainment groups and cheer stations that reflect its unique artistic community along the course. We hope our course entertainment aids in keeping runner spirits and vigor up during the race. If you or your group wishes to perform or create a cheer station, please visit our Volunteers page. Spectators of all types are invited to cheer on our runners throughout the race course. Come back soon for more information on official cheer locations. Please check back closer to Race Day to learn more about locations and other details.

Stay Connected Throughout Race Weekend

The San Francisco Marathon’s 2016 Race App, Powered by Fitbit empowered spectators to stay connected with their runners and our race throughout race weekend. From live runner tracking to key race information, our free app provided a world class experience for runners and spectators alike. Our app made it easy for friends and family to track their runners during their race and access key race information in the palm of their hand. Stay tuned for an even better Race App in 2017!
