Whether you are looking for the perfect team outing or just want to get your running crew together, we’ve got you covered! Groups that run together can qualify for 20% off registration. Groups are open to families, friends, charities, run clubs, schools and companies. 

Whether you’re running, jogging or walking—or competing in the 5K fun run or a 26.2 mile Full Marathon—group discounts are available to everyone.

Registration Options Include:

Option 1

Minimum of 10 pre-purchased Entries:

Sign up as a group and receive the following benefits: 

  • 20% off current ticket price*
  • Group meetup area in the Embarcadero Plaza on race morning
  • Groups of 30 or more may also be eligible for a ‘10×10’ tent/Group Meet Up Area after the race at the Finish Line Festival. The festival is located at the Main finish line on the Embarcadero across from the Ferry Building; 10×10 tents are not available at the Saturday 5K nor the Sunday 1st Half Marathon finish lines. 
  • Team Scoring is optional for our Group Discount Members, see our Team Scoring divisions here

Option Two

No Minimum Entries (offered to 501C3 organizations):

No minimum of entries and no need to pre-purchase* to qualify: 

  • You must show proof of being a 501C3 Charity currently registered in good standing
  • There is a limited number of these no-minimum entries available and only for a limited time

Qualification Requirements and Rules 

You can select from 3 types:

  • Your Charity earns 20% of the race registration fee for runners who register using the unique discount code we provide you with.  
  • Your Charity earns 10% of the race registration fee for runners who register using the unique discount code we provide you with while these runners also receive a 10% discount on the registration fee.
  • Your Charity offers a 20% race registration fee discount for runners who register using the unique discount code we provide you with. 

It’s up to your Charity to decide if there are fundraising requirements for your runners to meet before you provide them with our discount codes.

Group Program Guidelines for prepaid groups

  • You must pre-purchase a minimum of 10 entries to qualify
  • Offer applies to new registrants only, discount cannot be applied retroactively. 
  • Distances can be mixed.
  • Invoice cost will be based on the current ticket price, less 20% discount. Processing fees apply.
  • Group entries are non-refundable and cannot be combined with any other discounts or promotional offers. 
  • Packages are limited and while supplies last; we suggest purchasing early to save on registration fees and ensure availability.

To get started and take advantage of the discount and additional group perks, please email the following information to customersupport@thesfmarathon.com and request an invoice: 

  • Group captain’s name and email address
  • A list of the entries needed per distance (groups can be made up of any distance combination, for example, 5 entries for the Full, 3 for the Half, and 3 for the 10K.) 
  • Once payment is confirmed, the group organizer will be sent complimentary codes to disperse to the group’s members.
