We’re delighted to announce that @thesfmarathon has become Olympian Alexi Pappas’s home race and a place where she can nurture her love for the sport. With her help, we can’t wait to create a truly unforgettable race experience for all our runners. Meet Alexi at the Race Expo and take on the Alexi Pappas SFM 10K, a race overflowing with excitement, fun, and Glitter!
Start Time: 7:00 a.m.
Start Line: The Embarcadero near Mission St.
Finish Line: Embarcadero at Washington
Distance: Flat 10k course (6.2 miles)
Race Fee: $97.99

What You’ll Experience: Running in San Francisco is a thrill! Along the way, you’ll take in:
- The iconic Bay Bridge.
- Running along the Bay.
- Fisherman’s Wharf and Ghirardelli Square.
- Views of beautiful historic sailing ships along Aquatic Park.
- A flat, fast course that’s perfect for racing or walking.

We’ve opened up our 10K race to our runners’ canine companions; in other words, your doggo is also welcome to run this race distance with you!
Of course, to keep everyone happy and healthy, we had to put in place a few rules in order to guarantee everybody a race experience as great as it can be. To help us ensure safety on the course, we kindly ask that you follow these three simple rules:
- Please consider how your dog interacts with other people and dogs. If you’re not 100% sure about how your dog will react to your fellow runners and other dogs, please leave them at home and enjoy a run with them another time. Please note that you’re expected to stay toward the end of the pack and to clean up after your pet.
- If your pup is coming with you, please keep their leash as short as possible AT ALL TIMES, not just when you see or run with other participants.
- Your doggo needs to stay leashed during the whole event while on-site.
We will have doggy aid stations at the finish line with plenty of water for the brave, victorious doggos! Race registration for your four-legged friend(s) is free; they can just show up with you and run. Please note that at this time, the race is open only to dogs.
