Official Charity Programs
The San Francisco Marathon is committed to supporting the community we love!
Our Official Charity Partner is The San Francisco Recreation and Park Department.
The San Francisco Recreation and Park Department administers more than 220 parks, playgrounds, and open spaces, including two outside the city limits– Camp Mather in Yosemite Valley and Sharp Park in Pacifica, Calif. Our park system includes 25 recreation centers, nine swimming pools, five golf courses and numerous tennis courts, ball diamonds, soccer fields and other sports venues. Included in the department’s responsibilities are the Marina Yacht Harbor, the San Francisco Zoo, and Lake Merced.
Our staff members are diverse, committed and talented recreation and park professionals, from gardeners, foresters, and recreation leaders to park patrol officers, custodians, electricians, painters, and more.
Their mission is to provide enriching recreational activities, maintain beautiful parks and preserve the environment for the well-being of our diverse community.

The San Francisco Marathon is proud to partner with The Aneurysm and AVM Foundation (TAAF)
The Aneurysm and AVM Foundation (TAAF) is dedicated to bettering the lives, support networks, and medical care of those affected by aneurysm and other types of vascular malformation of the brain throughout the bay-area and beyond. In support of that mission, we have three primary goals that guide foundation activities:
- Provide support, including information, resources and motivation, for people with aneurysm and other types of vascular malformation of the brain, their families, caregivers and friends.
- Promote education and awareness in the community regarding aneurysm and other types of vascular malformation of the brain.
- Provide encouragement and funding for research on aneurysm and other types of vascular malformation of the brain in an effort to advance patient treatment and care
