The Race Expo • July 29th and 30th, 2016

Join thousands of runners and race spectators at The San Francisco Marathon 2016 Race Expo and experience the best in running, health, and nutrition.

Location: Festival Pavilion at Fort Mason, 2 Marina Blvd, San Francisco, California 94123

Time: July 29 from 12PM – 7PM, and July 30 from 9AM – 5PM

Admission: Free to the public

Bib Pick-up: All race participants are required to pick up their bib, timing chip, and race shirt at the Race Expo. If a runner cannot attend the expo, a friend or family member may pick up the packet with a copy of the runner’s photo ID and bib number confirmation email.

Race Packet Pick Up Instructions

  • All Marathon, 1st Half Marathon, 2nd Half Marathon, 5K and Ultramarathon participants must pick up their race packet (bib, timing chip, race shirt and sweats drop off bag) at the Race Expo.
  • Participants must present their bib number confirmation email and photo ID to pick up their bib.
  • Race Day pickup will not be available, and bibs will not be shipped.
  • If a runner cannot attend the expo, a friend or family member may pick up the packet with a copy of the runner’s photo ID and bib number confirmation email.
  • Runners must take the shirt size printed on their bib, and exchanges will not be made until Race Day.
  • Shirt exchanges can be made post-race at the T-Shirt Tent on Sunday, July 31st, subject to availability.

We’ve joined with innovative health and fitness brands to offer a rich experience for runners and spectators alike. Explore everything from official merchandise and experiential areas, to over 40 exhibitor booths, to sneaker donations. Sample our on-course electrolyte drink (Nuun) and chew (GU), or enjoy a beer at our Beer Garden presented by Lagunitas. Don’t forget to get your ID checked for expedited access to the Finish Line Festival Beer Garden on race day!

Join Our Official 2016 Shakeout Run Hosted by Fitbit Ambassador Dean Karnazes


Loosen your muscles pre-race with our Official 2016 Shakeout Run led by Ultramarathoner and Fitbit Ambassador Dean Karnazes. Meet Dean, 2015 Full Marathon 3rd-place finisher Jorge Maravilla, our ambassadors and fellow runners outside the Expo on Saturday morning, July 30th for an easy 5K run on the Marina Green. Checkin starts at 8:00am and the run starts at 8:30am. Stick around after to hear Dean’s marathon advice, get the chance to win a free Fitbit tracker and grab your bib and explore our Exoi. Entry is free and open to all, but space is limited. RSVP today!


Getting to the Expo

Free Shuttle Bus

Complimentary shuttle bus service will be offered from the Market St. side of our host hotel, the Hyatt Regency San Francisco (5 Embarcadero Center, San Francisco, CA 94111), to the Race Expo at Fort Mason Center during Expo hours on July 29th and July 30th. All runners and spectators are welcome to use this free service, and space is available on a first come, first served basis.

    Other Public Transportation: AC Transit operates service between San Francisco and the East Bay along the Richmond and Fremont BART lines. BART provides service between the East Bay and San Francisco. SamTrans runs between the Peninsula and San Francisco.

Driving Directions

  • From the East Bay
    Bay Bridge to Fremont Street Exit; on Fremont (100 yards north) take first right on Howard; left on Embarcadero & go 2 miles; left on Bay, about 2 miles. Right on Buchanan. Cross Marina Blvd. & sharp right into Fort Mason Center.
  • From the North Bay
    Golden Gate Bridge (US 101) to Marina Exit; go 1.5 miles. Turn left at Buchanan & turn right into Fort Mason Center.
  • From the Peninsula/South Bay
    US 101 North to 9th St. Exit; 9th across Market & left on Hayes; right on Franklin; about 2 miles. Turn left on Bay St, right on Buchanan. Cross Marina Blvd. & sharp right into Fort Mason Center .
