The San Francisco 1st Half Marathon Course

The 1st Half Marathon covers the first half of The San Francisco Marathon. The race starts on the Embarcadero near the Ferry Building, traversing San Francisco. The 1st Half Marathon runs through Fisherman’s Wharf, the Marina, across the roadbed of the Golden Gate Bridge, through the Presidio and finishes in Golden Gate Park.

Course Limits

1st Half Marathon:

In order to qualify as an Official 1st Half Marathon Finisher, you must finish within the 3 hour course limit.

5:30 AM – 6:30 AM
Mission Street and The Embarcadero San Francisco, California 94105

Amenities

Finishers receive a technical fabric long-sleeved participant shirt, finisher’s medal, electronic finisher’s certificate, and individual care, both on and off the course and following – including food, beverage, heat sheet and medical care, and free transportation back to Embarcadero.

Runner Shuttles

FREE Shuttle Busing from the Finish Line in Golden Gate Park back to the Main Start Line/ Finish Line on Embarcadero. Buses pick up at 10th & Fulton St. from 7:00 AM – 10:30 AM. Shuttles are for runners only. All you need is your bib to enter.

 

Awards

Scoring

The top 3 overall Men and Women in the first half marathon will receive a plaque and winners medal. The top three females and top three males in each age group will be given a personalized plaque. Results will be finalized 4-6 weeks post event and then age group awards will be personalized and mailed. Top 3 overall winners will be removed from age group awards (no double dipping).

Divisions

Open, Masters and Age Groups: 19 and Under, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+
