The Biofreeze San Francisco Marathon is thrilled to be partnering with leading digital fitness company, FitStar, to give all registered runners free Premium access to their two powerful personalized fitness apps: FitStar Personal Trainer and FitStar Yoga. To help supplement training, FitStar created two custom cross training and recovery yoga workouts inspired by The Biofreeze San Francisco Marathon for runners to access anywhere, any time.

With its year-round RUN365 Bay Area training program, The Biofreeze San Francisco Marathon is committed to supporting runners in healthy training, so they arrive on the start line ready to race, remain injury free, and recover as comfortably as possible. Regular cross training is a key part of healthy marathon training and in its RUN365 Official Training Plans available in-app in RunKeeper, The Biofreeze San Francisco Marathon schedules runners for 1-2 days of cross training each week. This May The Biofreeze San Francisco Marathon and FitStar are thrilled to announce our partnership with the release of two custom cross training and yoga sessions built specifically for marathon trainees:

Race Day Ready”, available in the FitStar Personal Trainer app, targets foundational lower body movements, upper body engagement and core strengthening. In this 24-minute cross training session, moves like mountain climber twists and bicycle kicks help support mobility and core strength.

Flexible Finish”, available in the FitStar Yoga app, focuses on opening hips, quads, hamstrings and shoulders. This 40-minute session will help counteract repetitive running with moves like reclining big toe, lizard and archer. Supporting core strength and flexibility, this recovery yoga session is a great session to follow up those long training runs.

To support healthy training, The Biofreeze San Francisco Marathon has partnered with FitStar to offer all 2015 registered runners in all five marathon events a free month of FitStar Personal Trainer and FitStar Yoga Premium so they can unlock all of the content in both of these powerful apps.
