Runners around the world are coming together today to celebrate Global Running Day.

Global Running Day, formerly known as National Running Day, began in the United States. The first event was held in 2009. The inaugural Global Running Day was held on June 1, 2016, and has since become a highly anticipated, annual celebration for the running community.

How to Celebrate #GlobalRunningDay

Whether you’re an aspiring runner, new runner, or a veteran, this is a day of opportunity to celebrate the sport of running. Here are 5 ways you can join in on the fun!

  1. Go for a run! 
    This one’s obvious, but shouldn’t be overlooked. Make the pledge to run. Then, hit the pavement, trails or treadmill, and share your triumph online using #GlobalRunningDay.
