When you sign up for any of our San Francisco races (5k, 10k, half, full, or ultra), you’re eligible to earn special swag when you refer friends to sign up for the race before July 1, 2021.

How it works:

  • Register for a San Francisco Marathon race – 5k, 10k, 1st or 2nd half, full or ultra
  • In your registration confirmation email, you will find your Personal Referral Code
  • Share that code with your friends, family by posting on social media
  • They must enter Your Personal Referral Code in the “Referral Code” box on the Checkout page (Step 4) when they register
  • Pick up your referral gift items at the Expo during race weekend

Here’s What To Say When You Invite Your Friends:

“I’m running the 2021 San Francisco Marathon and you should run with me!”

“You can register here and then on Step 4, the Checkout page, please enter my referral code in the box that says “Referral Code”: (insert Your Personal Referral Code from your Confirmation email).

Once you register, you’ll get your own referral code, and if you refer friends you’ll receive free gifts too!”

 

FAQ

Where can I find my Personal Referral Code?
Your Personal Referral Code is in your San Francisco Marathon registration confirmation email. Search your email for an email with the subject line: “The San Francisco Marathon 2021 Registration Confirmation.” In that email, under your credit card confirmation, look for “Your Personal Referral Code.”

If you still can’t find it, email customersupport@thesfmarathon.com and we’ll help you.

When will I get my gifts that I’ve earned for referring friends?
When you pick up your race bib, it will be marked with the number of referrals you earned and we will give you the referral gifts at the Expo during race weekend. Items will not be shipped to you before the race.

 

Deferring Registration & Referral items

If you choose to defer your 2021 registration by July 1, 2021. The following applies to your Referral Items:

  • When you reach out to defer your registration you will be informed if you have earned any referral items. If you did earn any items, you can have them shipped for $9.99 domestic or $39.99 international. This fee will be processed when you pay for your deferral. Shipping will occur 30 days after 2021 race day. If you choose not to have your items shipped, they can be picked up in 2022 at the Expo.
