The San Francisco 1st Half Marathon – Sunday, July 31st 2016

Race Start: 5:30AM @ Mission Street and The Embarcadero San Francisco, California 94105

Race Finish: 14th Avenue Meadow in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco, California 94118 with FREE shuttle bus (runners only) back to Embarcadero. 1st Half Marathon shuttles returning from the 1st Half finish pick up at 10th and Fulton from 7-10:30 am.

    • Wave 1 Full Marathon Elites & Invited Athletes – 5:30 am
    • Wave 2 – 5:32 am

    • Wave 7 – 6:22 am
    • Wave 8 – 6:32 am
  • Course Limits
    In order to qualify as an Official 1st Half Marathon Finisher, you must finish within the 3 hour course limit.
  • Water Stops
    The 1st Half Marathon includes 6 water stops where you can find water, electrolyte, medical, and toilets. One of these stops, water stop 3, includes GU.
  • Elevation

  • Runner Shuttle Schedule
    FREE Shuttle Busing from the Finish Line in Golden Gate Park back to Embarcadero. Buses pick up at 10th & Fulton St. from 7:00 AM – 10:30 AM. Shuttles are for runners only. All you need is your bib to enter.
  • Amenities
    All participants receive a technical fabric long-sleeved shirt. Finishers receive a finisher’s medal, free photos, electronic finisher’s certificate, and individual care, both on and off the course and following – including food, beverage, heat sheet and medical care.

  • Awards
    Gifts will be issued to the top 3 Men and Women in the 1st Half Marathon. Once official results have been finalized, award plaques are created, personalized and mailed.
  • Scoring
    The top 3 overall Men and Women in the first half marathon will receive a plaque and winners medal. The top three females and top three males in each age group will be given a personalized plaque. Results will be finalized 4-6 weeks post event and then age group awards will be personalized and mailed. Top 3 overall winners will be removed from age group awards (no double dipping).
  • Divisions
    Open, Masters and Age Groups: 19 and Under, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+
