Race Week Events
Welcome to San Francisco, what many locals will tell you (with blatent bias) is the best city ever. Hopefully you are here with some time to do more than only run, sleep, and eat carbs. While we do have great streets, comfortable beds, and delicious food, you may find yourself with the itch to experience our vibrant urban culture. Visitors and locals alike, you are in luck: this week is filled to the brim with amazing activities (not even including our action-packed Expo). Some take place near our course, so you can envision yourself flying through our fair streets on Sunday while having fun and taking in local flavors beforehand on Wednesday through Saturday.
Tuesday 6/11:
Dan Savage at the Castro Theatre with Daniel Handler (Lemony Snicket)! INFORUM of The Commonwealth Club is a great SF organization that puts on amazing events….This is a very San Francisco event where you will meet many intelligent, attractive people in a historic building. Bring your running buddies!
Wednesday 6/12:
We are co-hosting an after-hours event “Escape to Paradise” at The Conservatory of Flowers. Our course goes by this SF institution each year, and we help with this fundraiser in appreciation. Make a paper lei for your favorite runner, eat and drink some of the best stuff made in SF, and get cozy in the steamy greenhouses. The butterfly exhibit will inspire your flight on our course. Advanced tickets include a free drink!
Thursday 6/13:

Friday 6/14:
Secession Art and Design party! See work by our mile marker artist Hilary Williams. Sip some wine and experience local talent. A great casual happy hour to meet up with fellow runners. Plus, lots of good restaurants around to carb up!
Saturday 6/15:
Lululemon Shake-Out Run (had to sneak an actual running event in here, just so you didn’t forget about Sunday’s race!) 9am at 327 Grant Avenue. Join SF Marathon staff and ambassadors for a fun run around the city with lululemon’s effervescent team.
Saturday 6/15:
Music Video Race! There is no running involved for you, but come see and celebrate the best local filmmakers and musicians’ collaborations – which they accomplished in a 48-hour time span. Try not to stay out too late…you have a BIG run in the morning!
