Was 2017 Your First Time Racing The Biofreeze San Francisco Marathon?
Runners who had not previously raced in The Biofreeze San Francisco Marathon (half, full or ultra marathon events) before 2017 but who wanted to take on the 40 for 40 Challenge could still complete the challenge by registering for qualifying 2017 and 2018 events by April 30th 2017 at 11:59 PM PST
If you had NOT raced in The Biofreeze San Francisco Marathon events between 1977 and 2016, and you wanted to complete this exclusive race challenge, you must have raced in The Biofreeze San Francisco Marathon half, full or ultra marathon in 2017 and then race the complimentary distance in 2018 to complete 40 miles* at The Biofreeze San Francisco Marathon in 2018.
The two races selected for the challenge must add up to at least a cumulative 40 miles* (a minimum of a half marathon and a full marathon). The two races can add up to more than 40 miles (ex. a full marathon and a full marathon OR a half marathon and an ultra marathon).
Runners must have registered for BOTH their 2017 and complimentary 2018 race by April 30th 2017 at 11:59 PM PST. Runners registered after that date are not be eligible to complete the 40 for 40 Challenge.
Runners who start their 40 for 40 Challenge in 2017 will pick up their challenge medal in 2018, after finishing their qualifying race distance.
